My Role
Lead Designer

The primary challenge lies in lowering programming barriers to enable everyday users to create their own IoT automations. After benchmarking various interaction models, I found inspiration in the Scratch language developed by MIT.
I worked with the team to structured the flow of device events and actions, ultimately resulting in the creation of a new drag-and-drop visual programming language called DeviceScript, specifically designed for IoT automation.

Devices and Apps
The cornerstone of the platform lies in its diverse range of apps and devices, empowering users with the ability to manage their devices seamlessly via the "My Devices" page. Additionally, users have the freedom to craft their own apps or explore apps from the Showroom—a dynamic creator space where creators can share their creations with the community. This platform fosters an engaged and collaborative environment, inviting everyone to contribute and enhance the IoT ecosystem actively.

Outcome
The product was launched in 2019 and swiftly garnered numerous positive reviews, reflecting its exceptional quality and user satisfaction.
